Despite the excellent medical facilities in Tamil Nadu, the number of victims of corona infection is alarming. The court said the worst case scenario was avoided as private and government hospitals, doctors and health workers worked with dedication to prevent the second wave of corona.
Muthukkannan had filed a welfare petition in the Chennai High Court alleging that substandard food items were being provided at Corona treatment centers.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy, which heard the petition, said, 'Despite the excellent medical facilities in Tamil Nadu, the number of victims of corona infection is alarming. The worst case scenario was avoided as private and government hospitals, doctors and health workers worked tirelessly to prevent the second wave of corona.
However, there is no doubt that there should be a clear policy in this regard. We need to ensure that health facilities are available to all sections of the state. The best medical facilities should be taken care of without the condition of being only for the affluent. The judges adjourned the hearing to July 30, ordering the Tamil Nadu government to respond to the petition.
