INS at Thoothukudi Port A submarine is parked at the Kattabomman naval base.

China has recently leaked information to Sri Lanka in the Bay of Bengal in an effort to increase its naval strength. This was seen as a move to escalate China-India war tensions.

In turn, various measures are being taken to increase military strength on the Indian side as well. Accordingly, artillery, sophisticated warplanes, helicopters and aircraft carriers are on standby at all borders of the country.

Part of this is the state-of-the-art submarine "Sindhushastra" owned by the Indian Navy at the INS Thoothukudi port. Kattabomman is stationed at the naval base. It is also reported that the 'Sindhu Shastra' submarine may have arrived for a war rehearsal in the Mediterranean. The ship is said to be docked at the port of Thoothukudi for a week. The news of the submarine capsizing in the port of Thoothukudi has caused a great stir in the area.
