BJP leader killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir...



BJP leader and councilor Rakesh Pandita was killed in a firing by militants last night in the Tral area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. 

BJP leader Rakesh Pandita had gone to his friend's house last night and was returning home at 10.15 pm. Pandita and the daughter of a friend who came with him were injured when three militants who were hiding there at the time opened fire.

Rakesh was critically injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital. But doctors said he was already dead and the daughter of a friend who was injured in the shooting is being treated for serious injuries.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha and BJP leader and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti have condemned the killing of BJP leader Rakesh.

Speaking on behalf of the police on the incident, he said, ‘BJP leader Rakesh was given police protection by the gunman and Rakesh was the person in the security ring. But at the time of the incident, Rakesh had gone to his own village saying that he did not want the guards as he was going to go to his own village.

Rakesh has also denied the protection given to him. Police have registered a case and are investigating the murder. An investigation is underway into why Rakash went without police protection.

Last year alone, five BJP leaders were killed in Jammu and Kashmir. It is noteworthy that Rakesh is the 6th leader.
