The High Court cannot be barred from calling the Central Government a 'Union Government'

The Madurai branch of the High Court said on Thursday that it could not ban the central government from calling itself the 'Union Government'.

After the DMK government took charge in Tamil Nadu, government statements and the Chief Minister, the ministers have been calling the Central Government as the 'Union Government'.

In this context, Ramasamy, a native of Palani, had filed a 'Welfare' petition in the Madurai High Court seeking an interim injunction to call the Union Government.

The judges who heard the petition said,

Given that the Supreme Court has ruled that a person should not be forced to take the corona vaccine, how can one order such a person to speak?

Dismissed the petition, saying the court could not order Chief minister, other ministers to speak in the same way.
