The Supreme Court has ruled that an interim injunction cannot be imposed on the 10.5 per cent allocation made by the Tamil Nadu government to the Vanniyar community.
Sandeep Kumar from Chennai and Muthukumar from Sivagangai had filed suit in the Supreme Court seeking an interim injunction against the 10.5 per cent allocation made by the Tamil Nadu government to the Vanniyar community.
In this context, the Supreme Court, which heard the case, said, "We have read in full that the Government of Tamil Nadu has given 7.5 per cent internal allocation to the Vanni. The 10.5 per cent allocation to the Vanni community cannot be interim. The Government of Tamil Nadu must respond to this case." The Supreme Court has ordered that the case be adjourned.
