Uttar Pradesh State Varanasi Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Thursday) inaugurated development projects worth Rs.1,500 crore.

He inaugurated the building of the International Cooperation Conference Center to highlight the heritage of the ancient city of Kashi.

Officials say the roof of the International Cooperation Conference Center is in the shape of a Shiva lingam and 108 Rudrakshas have been installed. A two-storey building with 1,200 seating facilities has been constructed on 2.87 hectares of land in the Sikra area.

Officials say the center will provide an opportunity to hold conferences on social cultures at international conferences. Officials say it will help boost the tourism sector in the city.
