NIA officials yesterday arrested two militant brothers in Hyderabad in connection with the Darbhanga railway station blast in Bihar state.
When the parcels were unloaded at Darbhanga railway station in Bihar state on June 17 last year, a parcel containing clothes was covered in thin smoke. Then it exploded. Fortunately no one was injured. The case was later handed over to the NIA. In the course of its investigation, it caused casualties and material damage across the country through parcels
It was revealed that the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization was plotting.. Authorities arrested Mohammad Haji Salim Qasim and his son Mohammad Kafil, both from Khairana in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district.
Based on the information provided by them, NIA officials who had come to Hyderabad, Telangana, were secretly monitoring two brothers, Imran and Nasir, who were running a readymade clothing store in Asif. They were both arrested yesterday in this connection.
Authorities then took them to Delhi, where they are being held in secret.
Commenting on the case, which has caused a stir in Hyderabad, NIA officials said: The bomber, identified as Mohammad Sufyan, was sent to Bihar in a cloth parcel from Hyderabad on the 15th of last month. We were skeptical because the name of the buyer of the parcel was the same.
Both brothers are from UP. Among them is Nasir, who went to Pakistan in 2012 and received extremist training in Lashkar-e-Taiba. He is trained in making chemical bombs out of cloth.
Nasir, who later returned to Hyderabad, also imparted the training to his brother Imran. The two sent a fabricated chemical bomb to the Bihar railway station.
We think many like them may have come to India with such training. '
