In Tamil Nadu, the general restraining order with relaxations has been extended till July 31.

In a statement issued today, Chief Minister Stalin said that the Federal Ministry of the Interior had announced that it would continue to implement the necessary restrictions until 31-7-2021 to reduce the spread of corona infections.

In Tamil Nadu, curfew has been in place since 25-3-2020 under the National Disaster Management Act to control the spread of corona infections.

With the current relaxed curfew in Tamil Nadu ending at 6 am on 19-7-2021, the following activities will be banned in all districts till 6.00 am on 31-7-2021 in view of the need to monitor and control the corona epidemic situation in the state.

* Interstate Private and Government Bus Transport (Excluding Pondicherry)

* International air transport, except routes permitted by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs

* Theaters

* All pubs

* Swimming pools

* Community and political meetings attended by the general public

* Entertainment, sports, cultural events

* Schools and Colleges

* Zoos

* Only 50 people will be allowed at weddings to control infection.

* At funerals, only 20 people will be allowed.

In all areas except the disease control areas, the activities that are already allowed will continue to be allowed.

* All Vocational Training Centers, Type-Shorthand Training Centers with 50% students at a time, follow the Corona Prevention Guidelines on a rotational basis considering the employment of the trainees.

The following important standard guidelines should be followed without fail at all permitted shops and public places.

* The management concerned should ensure that the employees and customers of the shops wear the mask.

* Doors and windows should be kept open and ventilated in areas where refrigeration facilities are used and in shops, no more people should be allowed in at the same time to observe social space.

* When waiting in line for the general public at the entrance of the shops, signs should be put up so that there is enough space between one person and another.

Mechanisms for controlling infection

* The principles of Diagnosis, Treatment, Vaccination and Adherence to Corona Immunization (Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination-Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior) will be strictly enforced.

* In order to prevent the spread of corona infection, the District Collector and the local bodies should take active precautionary measures in the affected areas by defining the control zone micro level and following standard guidelines.

In limited disease control areas, district collectors must ensure that the following disease control measures are followed.

* Only essential activities should be allowed in disease control areas. In these disease control areas, activities other than the provision of medical emergency services and essential items are not permitted.

* In disease control areas, teams should be set up to monitor the spread of the disease and actively monitor door to door.

Relevant departments must strictly follow standard guidelines for the various activities permitted.

To control corona infection, I urge the public to avoid unnecessarily coming out of the house and gathering.

Furthermore, as mentioned in the National Guidelines for Corona Management, I urge the public to wear face shields in public places, to observe social spaces, to wash their hands frequently with soap / disinfectant, and to seek medical advice / treatment at the nearest hospital as soon as symptoms of infection appear.

The respective District Collectors / Chennai Municipal Commissioners should make all parties aware of the rules for the management of corona infection prevention and take steps to monitor their compliance and impose fines on those involved in the irregularities.
