The main announcement of the DMK's election manifesto was that a law would be enacted to cancel the NEET election in the first session of the Assembly after the DMK came to power.
No law has been passed to cancel the NEET exam in the first legislative session which is currently underway after winning the election. It has been criticized by various quarters.
Various parties have questioned the Tamil Nadu government's decision to set up a committee on the impact of the NEET exam without passing a law to cancel the NEET exam.
Similarly, the DMK had said in its election manifesto that it would reduce petrol prices by five rupees and diesel by four rupees with the formation of the DMK government.
However, after coming to power, the DMK has stated that there is no possibility of that at present and that the date will be put in the election manifesto instead.
In this context, the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and AIADMK All Coordinator Edappadipalanisamy told reporters in Omalur, Salem District today.
"The DMK has made 505 announcements in its election manifesto. It has announced that it will implement only a few of those election manifestos.
There is no formal answer to the question I raised about NEET selection in the legislature. The election manifesto said that the DMK NEET exam would be canceled. But now the committee is being set up and people are being consulted. The DMK has made false promises in the election and is currently engaged in a scuffle, ”said Edappadi K. Palanichamy.
