BJP's 'AIADMK tail' defeated in Assembly elections ... KD Raghavan's speech ..!

BJP state general secretary KD Raghavan has said that the BJP lost the assembly elections to the AIADMK.

Raghavan was responding to former minister CV Shanmugam's claim that the BJP was to blame for the AIADMK's defeat.

Speaking at a consultative meeting with AIADMK secretaries held at Marakkanam in Villupuram district's Vanur constituency on Tuesday, CV Shanmugam said,

The BJP was responsible for the AIADMK's defeat in the last assembly elections. We have completely lost the minority vote by forming an alliance with the BJP. He said the DMK had won by a margin of 14,000 votes, especially in Villupuram constituency where there were 20,000 minority votes.

In this context, BJP state general secretary Raghavan, who was in Villupuram on Wednesday, was asked about CV Shanmugam's opinion.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 303 seats across the country. The BJP has been more successful even in Islamist-majority states like Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh has an 18 per cent Islamic vote bank. The BJP candidate has won in most of the Islamic vote banks like Meerut.

Minorities predominate in the Northeastern states. The BJP is in power in many states there. In Goa, where 28 per cent are minorities, the BJP has seized power.

The BJP has 25 MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir, where the minority population is high. Minorities across the country are also supporting the BJP.

BJP volunteers believe that the BJP lost the assembly elections because of its alliance with the AIADMK. The BJP thinks that the wrong decisions taken during the last 4 years of AIADMK rule are the cause of the defeat.

CV Shanmugam cannot blame the BJP for his defeat. It remains to be seen whether CV Shanmugam's opinion is the opinion of the party leadership. Edappadi Palanisamy - O. Panneerselvam The BJP leadership will react to this.

BJP state president L Murugan has clearly commented on the local body elections. The BJP state executive committee has already held consultations on how to approach the local body elections. The alliance will be decided after consultation with the national leadership after the announcement of the local elections. Raghavan said some tips have been given to the district leaders in this regard.
