Speaking on the occasion of International Yoga Day in Chandigarh yesterday, the Haryana Chief Minister said:
Yoga is the best art of refining the mind and body. Students should practice yoga daily. The practice of practicing yoga should be inculcated in the minds of the students during childhood.
Yoga will be included in the curriculum of schools in Haryana as a part of the daily life of the students. It has been decided to include yoga in this academic curriculum for students from 1st to 10th class.
Like drinking water, food and oxygen, yoga is important to keep the body healthy. The government aims to encourage people to practice yoga and take the practice to the masses. To this end, we plan to set up yoga training centers in 1,000 villages. So far training centers have been set up in 550 villages. Work is underway in the remaining villages. 1,000 yoga instructors will also be hired. Thus said Manohar Lal Katar.
