Three Bangladeshis were arrested in Tirupur for staying illegally with fake documents.

Manikandan hails from Tirupur Ammapalayam Rakiyapalayam Road Ganapathy Nagar. He runs a Xerox shop in Anupparpalayam. In front of his house, he has rented two existing houses for monthly rent. In one of the houses, Simul Ghazi, 29, from Kajla, Bangladesh, had been working as a seamstress for a Banyan company in Rakiyapalayam last April and had asked for a house to rent.

It is customary to obtain passports, visas etc. as identity cards of foreigners residing in Tirupur. Manikandan has therefore asked for copies of his passport and visa. He said that they were in the company of Banyan and that the company was closed due to corona infection and could not afford it at present. In this case, he lived in the house without giving the documents.

He is accompanied by Saiful Islam (40) and Manna Mulla (31). They were workers at the Banyan Company in Tirupur. In this situation, Manikandan went home the day before yesterday and asked Simul Ghazi for documents as he had not given the documents for two months.

Then, he gave me the Aadhar card issued by the Government of India. Manikandan was shocked to see this. He questioned how a person from Bangladesh could be issued an Aadhar card at a West Bengal state address. Manikandan also refused to give them a passport for coming from Bangladesh. Suspicion fell on him and he was told to vacate the house. Then we pay the rent exactly on a monthly basis. They then attacked Manikandan and threatened to kill him, asking why he was telling them to vacate the house.

Thirumuruganpoondi police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. Following this, the police arrested them and kept them at the Anupparpalayam police station, where it was revealed that they were staying here illegally. Police confiscated fake IDs from them. The police investigation has revealed that Simul Ghazi has been staying in Tirupur for the last one and a half years and Saiful Islam and Manna Mulla for the last several years. Thirumuruganpoondi police registered a case under Section 7 of the Foreigners Prohibition Act and threatened to kill and arrested the three and took them to the Punalur jail in Chennai.
