A policeman has been stabbed to death in connection with a pigeon flying dispute in Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district. This incident has generated a chaos in that area. Police are searching for the killer as he is in hiding. Saravanan (32) hails from Kalai Nagar near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district.

Manimuttar served as a policeman in the 12th Battalion. He has been on leave from work for the past one year. Saravana, who was returning home after going to the shop, was suddenly cut by Ranjith, a resident of the area. Saravanan's hand was injured. Saravanan then pushed Ranjith away and fled. Saravanan, along with his friend Vikram, returned to the city with a hand injury after being treated at the hospital.

But Ranjith, who had disappeared following him, again cut Saravanan with a knife. Vikram got the knife when he went to stop it. Covered in blood, Saravanan was rushed to hospital at the scene. But along the way the police killed Saravanan. In this connection, Kottayam police have registered an FIR. It is alleged that Ranjith tried to seduce a woman and the incident took place after Saravanan hit her. Police are searching for Ranjith who escaped. It is noteworthy that the slain Saravanan had a wife, a son and a daughter.
