lead role

Feedback Petition filed by Election Commission: The election is a criterion for allotment of symbols to political parties on the basis of voter support. Assigning a particular symbol to a political party is to make that party and the voters comfortable. In the current electoral system, people identify political parties by symbol. Propagating new symbols in every election does not help the current electoral system. Rather, it will create confusion among the voters.

In electoral practice, voter comfort is also important. Symbols play an important role in identifying candidates and voters. Any change in the existing system would be detrimental to the electoral process. Therefore this petition should be dismissed.

Thus stated in the petition.
