The death toll from floods in West Germany has risen to 150.

Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in West Germany on Wednesday, with heavy rains and flash floods. Germany's neighbors Belgium and the Netherlands have also been affected by the floods.

The flash floods have washed away houses, apartment buildings and bridges. People have been relocated to safer places as many flats have been flooded.

The German government says 150 people have been killed so far in the floods and that the search for survivors has intensified.
