The Sabarimala Iyappan Temple, which has been closed for the past few months due to the Corona freeze, will reopen this evening for monthly pujas.
The temple walk will be opened this evening and arrangements will be made for monthly pujas. Devotees will be allowed to perform darshan at Sabarimala from tomorrow after about five months.
Devotees were barred from visiting the Sabarimala Iyappan Temple following the escalation of the corona epidemic last May. In this situation, it has been decided to open the Sannidhanam walk on the evening of July 16 on the occasion of the birth of the month of Audi. Devotees are allowed to visit the temple for 5 days from July 17 to 21.
5,000 devotees will be allowed to perform darshan daily. They must have booked online in advance. Devotees visiting the temple must pay two installments of the corona vaccine or have to undergo a coronary infection test 48 hours before coming to the temple and come with a certificate stating that they are not infected, the Travancore Devaswom Board, which manages the Sabarimala Iyappan Temple, said.
