Parents forcibly married ... arrested under Pocso Act ..!

Police have arrested six people under the Posco Act for allegedly marrying a girl twice in Bhavani.

A young man and a young woman arrived at the Bhavani Girl's Police Station on Monday morning to say that they had a romantic marriage at the Sankagiri Vinayaga Temple in Salem district and asked for their protection.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Vadivel's son Ajith (21) hails from Kaveripatti, Devo, Salem district and the woman married to Eva is an 18-year-old girl.

Following this, the girl's parents Bhavani Kadappanallu, Appusamy (48) and Nagamani (34) from Kovilpalaiyam were called and questioned by the police. Then, it was revealed that the girl was forcibly married to Kamaraj (34), son of Kuppusamy (60) and Govindammal (55) of Puthuppatti, Kaveripuram, Mettu, Salem district, last 6 months ago.

In this situation, this woman and Kamaraj, who have been running a family in Puthuppatti for the last 6 months, have come to Kovilpalayam for the Audi festival. In this case, when the girl came to her parents' house, it was revealed that Ajith had taken her and married her.

In this regard, on a complaint lodged by the District Child Protection Officer Rajendran, Kamaraj, Ajith, who married the girl, arrested 6 persons under the Podco Act, including the parents who were forcibly married.
