The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in many districts of Tamil Nadu till the 5th.

Press release issued by the Center: Due to atmospheric circulation and heat wave in Tamil Nadu, there is a possibility of heavy rain till the 5th. Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tirupattur, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Kadalur, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Salem and Dharmapuri districts are likely to receive heavy showers till today.

Theni, Dindigul, Salem, Madurai, Dharmapuri, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts will receive heavy rain at one or two places today. For the first two days of tomorrow, heavy rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the northern districts.

Southwesterly, Midwest and North Arabian Sea areas, up to 5 mph with strong winds up to 50 mph. Fishermen do not go to these areas. As of yesterday morning, the maximum rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours was 11 cm in Vellore district. As of yesterday evening, the highest temperature in the state was recorded in Trichy at 40 degrees Celsius. Thus it is said.
