Gold worth Rs 40.35 lakh seized at Chennai airport

The Central Revenue Investigation Division has received information that gold was being smuggled on a passenger flight from Dubai to Chennai. Accordingly, the authorities searched the passengers and their belongings at the Chennai airport.

Officers then identified the suspect, took him to a separate room and examined him. The search revealed that 810 grams of gold had been hidden in his body.

Following this, the authorities confiscated 810 grams of gold worth Rs 40.35 lakh. Authorities are investigating.
