Five athletes from Tamil Nadu selected to participate in the Olympics ...


Five athletes from Tamil Nadu have been selected to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. They are from Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Trichy districts.

 Rajeev Rajeev and Naganathan Pandey have been selected for the men's 4x400m and Thanalakshmi Sehgar, Suba Venkatesh and Revathi Veeramani have been selected for the mixed 4x400m.

 Aarokya Rajeev (30): Arokiya Rajeev, a soldier from Lalgudi, Trichy district, said, “I have been training with great enthusiasm for the last 10 years with the determination to win a medal at the Olympics.
The best team is located for the men’s series run for the Olympics. So, this time there are bright chances of winning the medal. I will make the country proud by winning the Olympics. '

 Naganathan Pandi (25): Naganathan Pandi, a native of Singappuliapatti, Ramanathapuram district, is a Chennai Armed Forces guard. He finished second in the 400-meter dash at the National Athletics Championships in Punjab and qualified for the Olympics.

 He has won gold on behalf of the Police in All India level competitions. He said, "My ambition is to win gold in the Olympics and add pride to India, my village and the Tamil Nadu Police."
 Dhanalakshmi Sehgar (22): Dhanalakshmi, a native of Koodurai, Trichy district, has been interested in sports since childhood but has been training hard in athletics for the last 4 years. For someone from a poor family, even the cost of training was unaffordable.

 He said, "My mother was determined to make me an Olympic athlete. I have been selected for the Olympics with the help of coaches and many others, including Manikandan. I hope I will definitely win a medal to add pride to the country."
 Suba Venkatesh (21): Suba from Thiruverumbur Bhagavathipuram, Trichy district, said, “My grandfather Sangilimuthu, who worked in the police, instilled in me the motivation to participate in sports.
 I have participated in 8 international competitions and won medals in 3 of them and I have not yet got a government job.

 If there is a qualified government job, it can be used to better understand the industry. I hope I can show my full potential and win a medal at this Olympics. '

 Revathi Veeramani (23): Born in Sakkimangalam, Madurai district, Revathi works as a business and ticket clerk at the Koodalnagar railway freight station. Raised by his grandmother until he lost his mother and father at an early age, he won medals in athletics during his school days. He has won medals in national and international competitions under the guidance of Coach Kannan.

 A graduate of Tok Perumatti College, Madurai, he got a job in railway last year. He said, "I qualified for the Olympics by completing the 400 meters in 53.55 minutes in the qualifying test in Punjab. I will add pride to India at the Tokyo Olympics."

 Rs 5 lakh per incentive: Chief Minister MK Stalin's order
  Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered to provide Rs 5 lakh each to 5 Tamil Nadu competitors going to the Tokyo Olympics.

 In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said, "Arogya Rajeev, Naganathan Pandi, Suba Venkatesan, Dhanalakshmi Sehgar and Revathi Veeramani have qualified for the Olympics in Tokyo.

 Among them, Aarokya Rajeev is said to have trained under the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority's incentive scheme for high school athletes and Suba Venkatesh under the Incentive to win medals in international competitions.

 It is noteworthy that 7 Tamil Nadu athletes who have already qualified for the Olympics have been given an incentive of Rs. 5 lakh each.
