Vaccines provided by the Tamil Nadu government to private hospitals have not been used .. The government should use ... OPS request to the first

AIADMK co-ordinator O. Panneerselvam has urged Chief Minister Stalin that more than 25 lakh vaccines provided by the Tamil Nadu government to private hospitals are unused and that the Tamil Nadu government should use it to vaccinate the poor for free.

AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam issued a statement today:

'There is no doubt that the Central and State Governments have a duty to implement food, famine and other diseases as promised by Thiruvalluvar.
In this regard, vaccinations are currently being carried out to eradicate the corona epidemic that has spread worldwide. At least 16 crore vaccines are required if everyone in Tamil Nadu is to be vaccinated on the basis of two vaccinations per person.

As on the morning of June 26, a total of 1 crore 44 lakh 83 thousand 705 vaccines have been given to the people of Tamil Nadu. That means less than 10 percent have been vaccinated. In this situation, out of the 13.9 lakh medicines distributed to private hospitals in May and June, more than 8 lakh medicines are unused and the Central Government has allotted 71.50 lakh doses of vaccines to Tamil Nadu by July, of which 17.75 lakh medicines have been allotted to private hospitals, according to media reports.

More than 25 lakh medicines are in the possession of private hospitals as more than 17 lakh vaccines have already been admitted to private hospitals for the month of July as more than 8 lakh vaccines are not being used. Usually people go to government hospitals because there is a free vaccination facility that allows them to go to the website and get vaccinated directly without any registration reservation.

This is mainly due to the fact that local bodies have set up free vaccination camps in schools, colleges and community centers. At the same time, private hospitals can pay between Rs 850 and Rs 1,500 per vaccine. Apart from this, there is a condition that reservation is required. In most places private hospitals have to travel long distances.

For these reasons, millions of unused vaccines are stored in private hospitals. In this situation it is necessary for the government to take action to use unused drugs in private hospitals.

Therefore, I request the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to pay special attention to this and take steps to ensure that the Government of Tamil Nadu uses vaccines that are not used in private hospitals. I would also like to inform you that the needs of Tamil Nadu will be met through this'.

Thus said O. Panneerselvam.
