Former AIADMK minister CV Shanmugam, who lost power and lost the election, is walking around with police protection.

CV Shanmugam, who came to power as the Powerful Minister in the AIADMK regime. But no one unexpectedly embraced defeat in the legislative elections.

CV Shanmugam, who did not reach out to the outside world for a month after his election defeat, is now re-establishing himself as a powerful man in the party. Reports are coming in that he is trying to contest the by-election by demanding the resignation of the Peacock MLA from Bamaga.

The AIADMK is raising the question of how a minister who is not even an MLA can be given the same protection as a minister.

 The former minister said, "The CBI has obtained this protection on the grounds that there is a threat from them while the case of the BJP trying to kill itself is pending in the court."
