The number of corona infections in India has dropped to 84,332 as of Saturday morning.

For the fifth day in a row, less than a million new cases have been reported daily.

A statement from the Federal Department of Health said:

Of those treated for corona infection in the last 24 hours, 4,4003 died in a single day. A total of 3,67,081 people have died so far.

The highest daily death toll was 4552 on the 19th of last month.

The number of people receiving treatment for corona infection has dropped significantly and currently stands at 10,80,690.

For the 30th day in a row, the number of survivors is increasing more than new infections. 1,21,311 recovered in a single day and returned home.

So far a total of 2,79,11,384 people have recovered from corona infection.

Accordingly, the rate of recovery has increased to 95.07 percent. For the 30th consecutive day, the number of recovering patients has increased more than the number of new infections daily.

Nationally, the recovery rate has risen to 94.93 percent. The mortality rate is 1.25 percent.

So far 24,96,00,304 vaccines have been given under the nationwide vaccination program, the statement said.
