The High Court ordered to examine the death certificates of those who died of co-morbidities during the corona period

The High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to examine the death certificates of those who died of Corona annex disease during the Corona period with an expert panel.

In the petition filed by Sreerajalakshmi, a lawyer from Old Vannarapettai, in the Chennai High Court, it was not mentioned in the death certificates as corona death to the victims by corona. As a result, they have been denied relief assistance from the Central Government.

Fellow lawyer Kannan Corona was pronounced dead at the scene after he died of asphyxiation. Corona had demanded that the families of children who had lost their parents be barred from receiving government funding because the death certificate did not mention it as death.

The case came up for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjeev Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy. Judges who heard the case allege that corona deaths were not properly recorded across the country.

In the case of Tamil Nadu, if there is no corona infection certificate, it will not be registered as corona deaths. Only if there are clear records of death can research be done on overcoming the spread of infection in the future. Accurately stating deaths can help provide relief.

The judges also directed the Tamil Nadu government to examine the death certificates issued during the corona period with an expert panel as people suffering from corona annex disease have also fallen victim to the corona.

They also directed the Tamil Nadu government to file an initial report on the action taken in this regard and adjourned the hearing till June 28.
