Police found and defused two pipe bombs at the Shankar Cement plant in Shankar Nagar near Tirunelveli. It appears that the bombs were planted to extort money from the management of the cement plant. Police are investigating 6 people in this connection.

India Cements is based in Tirunelveli, Thalayuthu, Shankar Nagar. It employs more than 100 permanent workers and thousands of contract workers. In this case, they are producing a small number of workers to control the spread of the corona virus. It is also alleged that the plant management has laid off many workers in the management of India Cements. It seems that the plant management told many to come to work only a few days a week.

Last Saturday and Monday, some mysterious individuals threatened over the phone that they had planted pipe bombs at 5 locations on the premises of India Cements. They also allegedly demanded Rs 50 lakh from them. Following this, the plant management informed the police. Accordingly, a team of officers led by the Thalayuthu Police and the District Superintendent of Police Manivannan conducted an investigation.

Of these, 2 pipe bombs were found in the lift control room in the factory's production unit. The seized bombs were examined by the Bomb Disposal Police. The bombs were then placed in a lime quarry and the Bomb Disposal Squad police, District S.P. Were disabled in the presence of Manivannan.

Speaking to reporters after the district S.P. Manivannan said the explosives in the pipe bomb were explosives used in the atomic bomb, which had been completely defused and the case was being investigated. Police have arrested 6 people in this connection and are investigating.
