The Union Cabinet has approved to introduce a recharge system for people to pay their electricity bills.
The Union Cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Modi. It seems that various projects were approved at this meeting.
Accordingly, new power projects worth Rs. 3 lakhs have been approved by the Union Cabinet. It has also been approved to introduce a recharge system to pay electricity bills.
The Cabinet also discussed ways to provide uninterrupted access to electricity to farmers. Permission has also been granted to construct new power lines and new substations.
The Cabinet also approved projects worth Rs 19,041 crore to connect villages in 16 states across the country through power lines under the federal government's BharatNet project.
