AIADMK co-ordinator O. Panneerselvam has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking him to exempt Tamil Nadu from all entrance exams, including NEET.
O Panneerselvam also said that it was his opinion that there was no need to test the skills of the students with entrance test.
In his letter, O. Panneerselvam stressed that Tamil Nadu should be exempted from all entrance examinations, including the NEET examination, and that the state government should allow admission to higher studies on the basis of Plus 2 marks.
In this connection, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, O Panneerselvam wrote, “I would like to bring to your kind attention the information on the Process Classification Index for 2019-2020 for all States and Union Territories published on behalf of the Department of School Education and Education under the Ministry of Education, Union Government.
In that index, Tamil Nadu has surpassed the target of 90 percent. This table is published after examining 70 factors that are in the first place along with four other states.
The program emphasizes the quality of education in order to create the greatest change in school education. According to the index released by the Central Government based on various factors, the quality of education in Tamil Nadu is very good.
It is my opinion that there is no need to test students' proficiency by taking entrance exams for all vocational and other courses, including medical courses. Therefore, I urge the State Government to exempt Tamil Nadu from all entrance examinations, including NEED examination, and to allow admission to all higher courses on the basis of Plus 2 marks.
For this year, I request that the committee set up to award marks due to Govt 19 infection be allowed to admit students on the basis of which they are giving marks, ”O. Panneer Selvam said in the letter.
