Police are searching for the son-in-law who killed his mother-in-law in Srivilliputhur.

Kasi Eeswaran (28) hails from Attikulam area near Srivilliputhur. He was married to Kasi Eeswaran and Pandi Devi (20) from Perumalpatti area last year. They have no children.

In this situation, it is customary for Kasi Eeswaran to get drunk and often quarrel with Goddess Pandi. Similarly, last night, he got drunk near the tower on the side of the house and attacked Pandi Devi with a barrage.

Then Pandi Devi's stepmother and Kasi Eeswaran's mother-in-law Rajalakshmi and Marthandam (50) Govindan (29) went to stop him.

Then an enraged Kasi Eeswaran stabbed Rajalakshmi with a concealed knife. Rajalakshmi curls up on the spot and falls. Also Marthandam and Govindan were injured. Kasi Eeswaran stabbed the three and fled at lightning speed.

Meanwhile, Rajalakshmi, who was stabbed and fell down, was rushed to Srivilliputhur Government Hospital by her husband Rajeswaran for treatment. Doctors who examined her there said Rajeswari was dead.

The body of the slain Rajalakshmi has been kept at the Government Hospital for autopsy. Following this, Srivilliputhur Nagar police are searching for Kasi Eeswaran who killed his mother-in-law and stabbed 2 others with a knife based on a complaint lodged by Rajeswaran.

The incident has caused a stir in the Srivilliputhur area.
