'I' announced special financial assistance to the most affected sections during the Corona disaster .... Edappadiyar

"I was about to announce in the legislature the Corona Special Financial Assistance to the most affected sections during the Corona disaster. However, due to the unexpected announcement of the election date, I was unable to announce most of the public welfare schemes in the Assembly. The current government must implement it, ”said opposition leader Edappadi Palanisamy.

AIADMK co-ordinator Edappadi Palanisamy issued a statement today:

‘Law is a darkroom. The lawyers' argument is a beacon, ”said Anna. The economic situation of the majority of the legal community, who thus take their arguments as a beacon in the courts and fight tirelessly for justice, is generally not bright.
During Jayalalithaa's tenure and the AIADMK government that followed her, various welfare schemes were announced and implemented to raise the living standards of such lawyers.

* Lawyers' Welfare Fund increased to Rs. 7 lakhs.

* Rs 1000 per month for young lawyers. 3,000 / - is being given as a grant.

* A deposit of one crore rupees has been made to set up a new library in the Bar Associations.

* 7 Government Law Colleges have been newly opened across Tamil Nadu.

* Tamil Nadu National Law School (Law University) opened in Srirangam, Trichy.

* Dr. Ambedkar Law University has been newly established at a world class standard at a cost of Rs. 100 crore in Chennai.

Thus, with the establishment of new law colleges and universities on behalf of the government, the dream of the poor and simple students who are interested in studying law and have a policy has come true and the government has provided quality law education to Tamil Nadu students. This has created an opportunity for talented young lawyers in Tamil Nadu to engage in court work.

During the current corona disaster period, most of the days in the courts for the last one and a half years, the case has been heard only through video, so there is no situation in the court when there is a live trial. That is, it is currently impossible to get many direct training, such as seeing the argumentative skills of senior lawyers in person, the situation where the plaintiff can speak directly to the defendants and hear their grievances clearly.

Therefore, most lawyers are subject to experience and financial hardship. Lawyers are the pillars of our country, our law, our society. Lights that bring the state of truth before justice. During the 2021 assembly session last February, NGO workers who lost their lives during the Corona disaster petitioned for help.

In particular, teachers working in private schools, private buses, auto and taxi drivers, young lawyers and lawyers seeking help recommended by the Bar Council, as well as clerks working in lawyers' offices, petitioned me to seek government assistance from various sections of the economy affected during the Corona disaster.

As such, I was to announce in the Legislature the Corona Special Financial Assistance Notice to the most affected sections during the Corona Disaster. However, due to the unexpected announcement of the election date, I was unable to announce most of the public welfare schemes in the Assembly.

The present DMK government, realizing the plight of the above, has not yet announced any welfare assistance. In particular, the failure of the Corona Disaster Special Welfare Assistance to the young legal community has caused great frustration and sadness.

Therefore, the Government of Tamil Nadu should, as a first step, provide immediate corona relief funds and livelihood funds to lawyers and clerks of lawyers who have been weakened during the corona disaster.

In addition, the Tamil Nadu government should provide financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh each to the families of lawyers who have fallen victim to the corona infection.

Opposition leader Edappadi Palanisamy has made this request.
