Due to global warming in Tamil Nadu .... Heavy rain for 5 days in some districts ....


The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Theni districts due to global warming in Tamil Nadu.

The Met office said that there is a possibility of thundershowers in Tirupur, Dindigul, Tenkasi and Kanyakumari districts along the Western Ghats.

Chennai Meteorological Center today announced:

The Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Theni districts are likely to experience thundershowers at one or two places in the next 24 hours due to heat wave. Thundershowers will develop at two places in Tirupur, Dindigul, Tenkasi and Kanyakumari districts along the remaining Western Ghats.

Southern districts Delta districts, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Trichy and Thiruvannamalai districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. Chennai and Tiruvallur districts will receive light rains while other districts will receive mostly dry weather.

Thundershowers will develop at several places in the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts on the 15th. Similarly, Chennai and Tiruvallur districts are likely to receive light showers

The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Tenkasi and coastal districts along the Western Ghats will receive light to moderate rain with thundershowers on the 16th and 17th.

For Chennai, the sky will be generally cloudy for the next 48 hours. There may be light rain in a few places in the city.

Fishermen have been warned not to go to sea for four days from today to the 18th as strong winds of 45 kmph to 55 kmph are expected in the southwestern and central Arabian Sea.
