The decision to allow Tasmac stores to operate should be reversed on the grounds that human life is more important than government revenue. O. Panneerselvam Request.
AIADMK co-ordinator and former prime minister OBS said in a statement;
Despite the announcement that the curfew in Tamil Nadu will be extended for another week with some relaxation in a bid to further control the spread of corona infection, the announcement that Tasmag stores in 27 districts will be allowed to operate from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm will lead to an increase in the spread of corona infection.
Looking at this announcement, the idea of whether the DMK is taking a position befitting the time prevails among all.
In the first week of May 2020, the AIADMK government announced that liquor stores would be opened in Tamil Nadu from 7-05-2020, with the average number of coronavirus victims in Tamil Nadu averaging 3,000 and the death toll averaging 30. In protest, a black flag demonstration was held on behalf of the DMK in front of their house.
The then opposition leader and current prime minister staged a black flag protest in front of his house.
Following this, in August, when the number of corona cases in Tamil Nadu was less than 6,000 and the average death toll was 100 to 120 per day, the Chennai Metropolitan Police announced that liquor retail outlets in the border areas would be operational from 18-08-2020.
Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly, saying "this would only aggravate the problem of coronation."
Currently the DMK rule is taking place in Tamil Nadu.
The then Leader of the Opposition is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. As on 11-06-2021, the number of corona victims was 15,759 and the death toll was 378. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has announced that Tasmac stores in 27 districts will be allowed to operate from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
That is, the Chief Minister should consider whether the decision to allow Tasmac stores to operate in a situation where the number of victims has more than tripled compared to last year and the number of casualties has more than tripled is correct.
O. Panneerselvam has requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to withdraw the decision to allow Tasmac stores to operate from 14-06-2021 on the basis that human life is more important than government revenue.
