World champions France have lost to Switzerland in the Euro Cup.

The Euro 2020 Cup football matches are being held in different cities under the auspices of the European Football Confederation. The Euro Cup league round matches are over and have reached the knockout round.

The pre-quarterfinal round between France and Switzerland took place in Bucharest. Both teams scored 3 goals each at the end of regulation time in this very exciting match. Switzerland then advanced to the quarterfinals, defeating world champions France 5-4 on penalties. This is the 3rd game that went into extra time in the pre-quarterfinals. However, this is the first time the penalty has been awarded.
