The Chennai High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to inspect and file a report on whether government land and roads are occupied in the Naduvattam area of ​​the Nilgiris district.

Mahimaraj, a farmer from Naduvattam village in the Nilgiris district, has filed a petition in the High Court. In his petition, he said, 'Mahaveer Plantation has leased government land in the DR Bazaar area of ​​our village. Using it, the company occupies national and state highway areas and 8,000 acres of adjacent land.
The Mahaveer Foundation has blocked the road with 425 meters of large stones across the road, blocking access to other roads, farmland and the cemetery.

Action must be taken to eliminate occupation in order to protect the livelihoods and livelihoods of the people who have lived in the area for over a hundred years. The petition should be directed to the Commissioner of Land Administration, the Nilgiris District Collector, the Superintendent of Police and the District Revenue Department as no action has been taken to file a petition in this regard on April 16.

The case came up for hearing before a bench comprising Justices N. Kirupakaran and TV Tamilselvi. The bench directed the Tamil Nadu government, the Nilgiris District Collector and the police to respond to the action taken on the aggression complaint.

Also, inspect the documents for the area referred by the petitioner and see if there is occupation in the area? The judges adjourned the hearing, ordering that a report be filed within 3 weeks of the finding.
