Petition seeking action under Posco Act against the Minister in the case of sexual harassment ....!



The protest took place in front of the SSP office demanding that the case of sexual harassment of a college student be transferred to the CPCI. A petition has been filed seeking action under the Posco Act against the minister for threatening the victim's family.

Several other organizations, including the Pondicherry Human Rights and Consumer Protection Movement, have besieged the SSP office, demanding an order to transfer the case of the sexual assault and murder of a college student from the Mettupalayam area to the CPCIT. Accordingly, General Secretary of the Human Rights and Consumer Protection Movement Lalar Muruganantham led the protest yesterday. Many people including Dravidar Kazhagam Shiva Veeramani, Tamil Kalam Alhagar, revolutionary Ambedkar renaissance movement Pavadairayan took part in it.

Sen Runar gathered near the Venkatasuppa statue and marched to blockade the SSP office. The police detained them. Subsequently, only key executives met SSP Pratiksha and filed a petition. The protesters and the mother of the woman who died of sexual abuse then expressed their demands. The SSP promised to take action on the requests after hearing them.

In this connection, the protesters said, 'We have emphasized many demands in the petition submitted to the SSP. In particular, immediate action should be taken under the Posco Act against the Mettupalayam police station officer who was negligent in filing a sex case against a college student. Minister Sai Saravanankumar should be prosecuted under the Posco Act for intimidating a family member who lost a woman to sexual abuse. The woman's family must be protected. The State Children's Commission should be set up to look into the increasing child sexual abuse in Pondicherry and to protect the children.
