In Tamil Nadu, more people were affected by the second wave than the first wave and many died due to lack of oxygen. The impact has now been lessened by the swift action taken by the Tamil Nadu government to improve the oxygen bed facility.

In this situation, there is a growing interest among the people for indigenous medical treatments like Corona Pathi Bukku Siddha and Ayurveda.

Corona Siddha Medical Center is functioning at Nehru High School, Iyer Bungalow Park Town - Kulamangalam Main Road on behalf of Madurai Flat Promoters Association.

With a capacity of 100 beds, it provides 24 hours proper care and free Siddha medicines.

Vallappan, Kandasamy, Muthuvel and Manikkam, administrators of the treatment center and executives of the Promoters' Association, said that so far more than 100 people have recovered and returned home.

They further said: Minister P. We started the Siddha Special Treatment Center with 100 beds on May 26 on Murthy’s instruction. More than 80 are receiving treatment. At least 10 to 15 new entrants are admitted each day. Up to 10 people recover daily and return home.

Nutritious food, vegetable soup, medicine and pills are provided free of cost to those receiving treatment here. Counseling is also provided to alleviate the fear of illness, along with doctor's advice. He said victims of corona infection should make use of the center.

At the Govt Care Center, Kamarasar Organ College, Kappalur, Madurai, a yoga natural treatment is offered exclusively for corona sufferers.

Naturopath and yoga practitioner Amutha said: The center is run by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Those admitted here are given a 10 minute sunbathing treatment every morning and evening. Ginger, turmeric, basil, pepper and licorice are given in the morning to boost the immune system. Acupressure and natural therapies like Omam, Tulsi, Echinacea, Oil Fragrance, Pranayama, Breathing and Yogasana are offered to enhance sleep. It works well. Between 50 and 75 people continue to be treated as inpatients each day. He said up to 20 people recover and return every day.

Meanwhile, Madurai Anna Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Lilligrace has arranged for the free supply of natural corona powder packets containing Siddha and Ayurvedic medicines.

The volunteer group recommends that corona sufferers eat 3 times a day for 3 days and non-infected people eat honey twice a day, preferably twice a day. This medicine is given by post and in person.
