Four times more than the required 289 metric tons of oxygen beds ... BJP alleges ...

BJP senior leader Sampath Bhadra has said in an interim report filed in the apex court that the state government had overestimated the demand for oxygen in Delhi four times during the April-May period when the corona epidemic broke out.

Last May, 4 lakh people were infected with the corona virus daily across the country. Many corona patients died due to lack of oxygen in various states including Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The apex court, which heard the case voluntarily, ordered action to be taken to address the oxygen shortage across the country and supply of additional oxygen to Delhi.
The Supreme Court then appointed a committee to look into the distribution of oxygen to the states. The apex court also directed that the expert panel examine the oxygen demand of all the states and on that basis submit the recommendations of the expert panel on the current oxygen supply, distribution and future demand for equitable distribution of oxygen to all the states.

The Supreme Court also appointed sub-committees for this purpose. The interim report of the panel was filed in the Supreme Court. BJP senior leader Sampath Bhadra said today that various information has been received in it. He said:

The average oxygen consumption in Delhi ranged from 284 to 372 metric tons. According to the Delhi government, the total oxygen consumption between April 29 and May 10 did not exceed 350 metric tonnes.

Delhi hospitals have received 1,140 metric tonnes of oxygen, 4 times more than the 289 metric tonnes required for oxygen beds in Delhi.
Other states in need of oxygen have been affected as Delhi has been supplied with excess oxygen, the interim report said. The Kejriwal government has politicized the issue of oxygen.

Thus he said.
