Curfew extended in Tamil Nadu till June 14 .... announced today ....!

It has been reported that the full curfew order with relaxations in some districts will be extended for another week (till June 14) as the spread of corona in Tamil Nadu is declining. An official announcement is expected today.

Curfew Extension:

The daily incidence of corona infection across Tamil Nadu was over 35,000 in the last one week. The full curfew, which had been in place since May 10 to control this, did not work. The reason was that vegetable, grocery and meat shops were allowed to operate as usual till 10 am daily.

Thus public mobility was seen as usual. Police were advised not to confiscate the vehicles of those who roamed outside unnecessarily so that the public could be seen roaming outside without awareness.

Noticing this, the government intensified the entire curfew from May 24. Ordered to close all shops other than pharmacies and hotels. Their vehicles were confiscated and fined if the public came out unnecessarily. It was also informed that the vehicles would be returned only after the end of the curfew. In addition, daily necessities such as vegetables, groceries, fruits, milk and bread are allowed to be sold directly at home.

So the public was prevented from coming out unnecessarily. As a result, the spread of the corona began to decline. The number of victims gradually declined daily. In the last 24 hours, 22,651 people have been confirmed infected. Thus the full curfew without relaxation has been shown to be effective. The declining corona impact in the capital Chennai is currently increasing in districts including Coimbatore.

The state-wide relaxation of the curfew, which has already been implemented, will end on June 7. In this connection, Chief Minister Mukha Stalin held a key consultation yesterday with senior officials of the Medical Expert Committee, Health and Police. The medical team recommended a one-week full curfew. It has also been suggested that gradual relaxations may be granted only in some districts where corona exposure is low, while in other districts the full curfew should be extended without relaxation. An official announcement will be made today.
