Nagaland has already been declared a tense area across the state, with the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday ordering it to be extended for another 6 months.
The Union Home Ministry declared all parts of Nagaland tense and passed the Armed Forces Special Powers Act last December. Implemented on the 31st.
With the expiration of this order today, the Union Home Ministry has announced an extension of another 6 months.
Additional powers will be given to the Central Security Forces where the law is in force. It is authorized to arrest, investigate and investigate suspects.
