There were 48,786 new corona infections in the country in the 24 hours to Thursday morning, with 1,005 people dead from the infection, according to the Central Department of Health.

A statement from the Central Department of Health said:

The daily incidence of corona in India has been steadily rising for the past two days as it continues to decline. The corona was confirmed to 48,786 people in the 24 hours to Thursday morning. As a result, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 3,04,11,634.

The number of people being treated in hospitals for corona infection has dropped to 5,37,064. 61,588 people have recovered from the infection in a single day. Since then, the total number of survivors has risen to 2,94,88,918.

For the 48th consecutive day the number of healers has increased more than the daily new exposures. Nationally, the recovery rate has increased to 96.92 percent.

The daily corona death toll in the country has increased to 1,005. So far 3,99,459 people have died from the virus.

19,21,450 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours and a total of 41,20,21,494 tests have been conducted in India so far.

The statement said 33,57,16019 vaccines have been given under the nationwide vaccination program.
