There is a rule that modern technology devices, including mobile phones, are not allowed inside the assembly. In this context, the rules are to be amended as soon as possible given the portable computer.

The Central Government is implementing a program called Paperless Legislative Assembly across India. This is being done by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Under the project, dubbed Neva, all assembly activities are to be digitized. Training classes and programs for this have been arranged by the Secretariat of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

Mobile: As a first step towards achieving the goal of a paperless legislature, mobile phones are to be provided to Tamil Nadu MLAs at the forthcoming financial statements meeting. They can download the financial statements through this computer. Arrangements are being made to bring this portable computer into the Assembly and view the financial statements.

As a result, the supply of financial documents through printed books will be reduced and the cost of papers and their savings will be reduced, according to sources in the secretariat.
