Prohibition on purchase, sale and use of drones in Kashmir...

The purchase, sale and use of drones has been banned in Kashmir's Rajouri district.

Two bombs exploded at the Jammu Air Force base in the Union Territory of Kashmir on the 27th at a distance of 6 minutes. 2 of them were injured. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station. It is suspected that Lashkar-e-Taiba may have been involved in the attack. Security has been beefed up in Kashmir since then.

In this context, Rajeshwari Shawan, the Rajouri District Collector at the border, issued an order yesterday saying, 'Some anti-socials are planning to use drones to damage public property and kill people.
Therefore, it is forbidden to buy, sell, stockpile or use drones in the public interest. Holders of drones or similar flying devices should be handed over to the local police station immediately.

However, government agencies that use drones for surveillance work must obtain permission from the local police station or the relevant authorities.
