The commission set up by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said that 123 people have been implicated in the crime as the chief minister's election agent and senior leaders of the Trinamool Congress. However, dissatisfaction has been reported that only a few arrests have been made.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has denied the allegations, accusing the BJP of using companies to discriminate against the state government.
