Medical colleges will be opened in Pondicherry next month, followed by other educational institutions that will be gradually opened after monitoring the environment, Deputy Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said.
The Deputy Governor of Tamil Nadu today inaugurated the breastfeeding room for mothers at the Puducherry Siddhanandar Temple premises. The governor who came to the temple was welcomed and pujas were performed. The governor performed pujas before opening the room. The governor showed the flame by sprinkling holy water. The Governor also participated in the pooja and opened the room.
"The temples are open for the devotees to have peace of mind. We are not completely free from the corona. We have to follow the corona practices when coming to the temple," the governor told reporters.
A room has been arranged for mothers visiting the Siddhananda Swamy Temple to breastfeed their children. This is a welcome attempt. Similarly in all temples, railway stations and bus stations mothers should open the breastfeeding room. There is an awareness among the people at present. However we must be careful.
There has been a demand to open medical colleges. All medical college students have been vaccinated. So, as a first attempt, medical colleges will open next month. After that other educational institutions will be gradually opened depending on how the disease is controlled. The decision on the opening of schools will be taken in consultation with the parents, ”the governor Tamilisai Soundararajan told .
