The Chennai Meteorological Department said on Tuesday that there is a chance of rain in 5 districts in Tamil Nadu.

In a statement issued by the Meteorological Center,

Due to the southwest monsoon, heavy showers are likely at one or two places in Coimbatore and Nilgiris till July 24 and moderate rains in Theni, Dindigul and Tenkasi districts.

For Chennai district, the sky will be overcast and there will be moderate rain in some parts of the city.

In addition, strong winds are likely in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gulf of Mannar and South Bengal on the 23rd due to the formation of a low pressure area in the north-western Bay of Bengal. Fishermen have therefore been warned not to go to certain areas.
