The Delhi Cabinet has decided to implement the 'One Nation' 'One Ration Card' scheme in Delhi.

The scheme has been launched to make free ration items easily available to family card holders under the Public Distribution Scheme in the National Capital.

The electronic system of family cards has been upgraded to enable family cardholders to avail the essential items provided under the Public Distribution Scheme at any fair price store across Delhi at their discretion.

Accordingly, family card holders can get their products biometrically at all fair price shops in Delhi.

The scheme also allows migrant workers to avail ration benefits from any part of the country.

Earlier, the apex court had directed the state government to implement the scheme by July 31.
