BJP ministers petition Home Minister to waive Rs 8,500 crore loan to Puducherry


The Speaker and BJP ministers and MLAs have submitted a petition to the Home Minister seeking a waiver of the Rs 8,500 crore loan for Puducherry. Amit Shah has said that he will come to Puducherry after August 15.

The BJP MLAs, nominees and independent MLAs who won the New Delhi assembly elections went to Delhi and met Prime Minister Modi yesterday.

As well as put forward various demands. For the second day today they met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They also made several important demands to Amit Shah as the Union Territory of Pondicherry is under the control of the Central Interior.

"We have met the Union Home Minister and demanded that the Pondicherry Legislature provide financial assistance for the construction of the building, the Pondicherry State Debt Relief, subsidized funding and the assistance required by the Central Government for the development of the state," he said.

Namasivayam, the party leader and minister in the BJP legislature from Delhi, said, “We have conveyed the same demands to the Home Minister as to the Prime Minister.

Rs 500 crore is required as corona relief fund and Rs 330 crore of GST arrears due to the state of Puduvai should be paid immediately.

The Rs 8,500 crore debt of the state of Puduvai should be written off immediately. The state of Puduvai should be added as a member of the Finance Commission. We have also demanded an increase in the amount of credit to the state.
