Bakreed festival .. Announcement of additional relaxations in Kerala .. Good news for Sabarimala devotees too...!

The second wave of corona infection is traveling downhill in almost all the states in India. But in our neighboring state of Kerala, known as the 'Nation of God', the incidence of corona is high.

More than 12,000 cases are reported daily there, almost to the extent known as the 'Nation of Corona'. Even in the last 24 hours, 16,148 people have been diagnosed in Kerala.

114 people were killed. 1,24,779 people are being treated for corona. The state’s corona positive rate is 10.76 percent. Various restrictions have been imposed in Kerala as the corona continues to suffocate. A full curfew has been imposed for 2 days over the weekend. The Kerala government has announced various relaxations in the curfew till July 20 due to the Bakreed festival.

Kerala has already announced restrictions on corona positive ratio (DPR) to various categories. I.e. areas with DPR below 5% are A, areas with 5 to 10% DPR are B, areas with 10 to 15% DPR are C, and areas with 15% DPR are DPR. Areas containing are also classified as D. Restrictions and relaxations are given at the DPR rate.

* Shops selling clothes, shoes, electronics and jewelery in addition to shops selling essential items in A, B and C categories will be allowed to stay open till 8 pm.

* At places of worship, up to 40 people who have received at least one dose will be allowed to visit.

* Shops in the D 'category will only be allowed to open on Mondays

* In categories 'A' and 'B', beauty salons and barbers are allowed to open with at least one dose of vaccinated staff

How many devotees are there in Sabarimala?

* Film shooting can also be conducted in A and B categories. But strict corona protocol must be strictly followed

* 5,000 to 10,000 devotees are allowed daily at the Sabarimala temple. Only those who have been vaccinated with at least one dose will be admitted.

* RT-PCR Corona Negative Certificate is not required for inter-state travel and exam writing.

* But they have to carry a certificate showing that they have been vaccinated in two doses
