Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has stated that the goal is to create a situation where there will be no accident deaths by 2030.
Minister Nitin Gadkari speaking at the launch of a video seminar on Motor Vehicle Accident Safety:
Road accidents are on the rise in India and other developing countries. 1.5 lakh people die every year. This is more than corona deaths.
My vision is to reduce road accident deaths by 50 percent and to create a situation where there will be no more accidents and deaths by 2030. Two-wheelers account for 60 percent of road accident deaths. Motorcycle traffic safety is the current need.
Globally, automotive engineering technology and road engineering technology are greatly improved. Better training for drivers and advanced training centers are important.
It is my moral responsibility to build good roads and improve road structure. We need the cooperation and coordination of all parties to create awareness about road safety and achieve our goals.
Thus said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
