Gopal's son Veerakali (65) hails from Marungur Mariamman Temple Street, Thirumarukal Union, Nagai District. He is working as a cleaner in Tirupayathangudi panchayat. His wife is Tanapakiyam (52). They have 3 sons Pichaimuthu (34), Chinnaiyan (31) and Muthu Pandi (28). Everyone is involved in the pig farming business.

Raju (38), son of Veerakali's brother Srinivasan, used to raise his pigs at a place owned by Jayapal of Karamani Street, Marungur, behind his house. Pichaimuthu, who had bought the place from Jayapal a few days back, had been forcing Raju to drive the pigs out of the place.

In this situation, when Veerakali was at home yesterday, he talked to Raju who came that way about vacating the place. Thus, in the dispute between them, the enraged Raju cut the warrior with a scythe. Veerakali's wife Tanapakiyam, who came to prevent this, was also cut with a scythe. In this, Tanapakiyam died on the spot.

Then, Muthupandi, the 3rd son of Veerakali, who came there, took the broken cement car and hit Raju on the head. Raju was seriously injured and died on the spot. The injured Veerakali is being treated at the Nagai Government Hospital.

Informed Thittacheri police went there and recovered the bodies of Tanapakiyam and Raju and sent them to the government hospital for autopsy. Further, a case was registered in this regard and Muthupandi was arrested.
