The court should protect the temple property and idols ... High Court order

The Chennai High Court has ordered that the court should protect the temple property and idols.

The 60 acres of land donated to the Palani Paladandayuthapani Temple by the Queen of England in 1863 during the British rule is in Periya Kumarapalayam in Tarapuram taluka.

The land was leased to Srirangakaundar and Ramasamy counter for farming. Srirangakaundar and Ramasamy Kauntar and the temple trustee sued the Erode court, claiming that the land belonged to the temple, as the Tamil Nadu Reward Abolition Act was introduced in 1960.
In it, the court ruled that the independent ownership of the land belonged to the Palani Paladandayuthapani temple.

Following an appeal by the two, Judge RMD Deekaraman issued an order stating, “The temple administration has stated that Baladandayuthapani Swamy at the top of Palani Hill and Thirumurthy Swamy at the foot of the hill are the same Swami and both temples are managed by the same temple.

I dismiss this case as the petitioner's contention that Mummurthy Swamy at the foot of the hill and Paladandayuthapani Swamy at the top of the hill are different is not valid.

The law usually says that the court is the protection for children. Similarly, devotees use the Swami in the womb as a child. That is why the child and the deity are said to be one. In that sense, the court is the guardian of the Swami in the sanctum sanctorum and its idols and property.

Therefore, the petitioners should hand over the temple land in their possession to the temple administration. ”
